Aim of the course

The course is designed to provide knowledge, skills and attitude in performing Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) duties. It also provides valuable exposure to automated AIS system and insight into some of the key developments in AIS/AIM.

Pre-entry requirements

- Minimum age: 18 years.

- Education or Qualification Requirements: Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) or equivalent with passes in Physics or Mathematics and Geography.

- Medical requirements: Nil.

- Linguistic requirements: Fluent in English Language.

Duration

The course covers four main phases namely; formal classroom instructions, automation, field attachment and On the job training (OJT).

- Foreigners will attend 9 weeks only (Phase I) with anticipation that they will cover the remaining phases in their own countries.

-Tanzanians will attend 42 weeks as follows:

        . Phase I (9 weeks): Formal classroom instruction (Theory).

        . Phase II (4 weeks): AIS automation techniques which are directly related to AIM duties.

        . Phase III (16 weeks): Field attachment to selected stations (Practical).

        . Phase IV (13 weeks): On the Job Training at AIM units.
